The Ingredients For The Best House Party

Your party should be the party everybody’s talking about. Here’s the how to…

Everyone’s talking about how great that party was last night. Whose was it? Yours? Hell yeah it was! There’ll be summer parties galore, but we’re here to make sure yours is the best. Here’s how to bring the beach house vibes to your own home.

First up, drinks. Nothing says summer quite like a cocktail, and we’ve picked one that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Introducing: The Beach House.

What you’ll need:

1 part (50 ml) Malibu Island Spiced

1 part (50 ml) coconut cream

1 part (50 ml) pineapple juice

Fresh pineapple wedges

1 part (50 ml) Malibu Original

1/2 part (25 ml) fresh lime juice

2/3 part (30-35 ml) simple syrup

Strawberries

How to mix:

Add the Malibu Island Spiced, coconut cream, pineapple juice and fresh pineapple wedges to a blender with a scoop of crushed ice. Blend for about 45 seconds and then pour into a chilled highball glass.

Next add the Malibu Original, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and strawberries to the blender with a scoop of crushed ice. Blend that for another 45 seconds and then float the second cocktail on top of the first.

Don’t forget to add a strawberry on top!

Next up, music.

There’s nothing worse than the awkward silence after a song ends, or when a track plays on repeat 4 times before someone changes it. We’ve come up with the perfect soundtrack for you to avoid the hassle. All you have to do is press play and enjoy the party. Because we’re good like that.

For this month’s mix we hooked up with Marvin Humes, formerly of JLS and fresh off a summer DJing on the party island of Ibiza.

After starting on a housey vibe, this ‘Summertime Beach House’ mix takes things old school as Soul II Soul, Arrested Development, Mantronix, Tupac and even Biggie make an appearance, before switching things up again with a couple of garage tunes. There’s also a special surprise for you at the very end!

Marvin told us “it's summer and this is the sound that’s killing it right now, I love it! Halfway through I've switched it up, just like we are in a house party and dug in the crates for the classics. Right, pass me the Malibu and show me where the party’s at!”
The party’s right here!
