A Friday mix: Malibu® Mango Mojito

10 Sep, 2010 15:09

Another alternate take on the classics, the Malibu® Mango Mojito adds a nice twist.

The Mojito, while pretty simple to mix, does take some time and attention. After their first hundred or so plain Mojitos, bartenders have been known to look for some alternatives. Enter the Malibu® Mango Mojito. There may be a slight mini-workout for the bartender when mashing the mint leaves with the rest of the ingredients. Make sure to tip accordingly.

DRINK INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 parts Malibu® Mango

1/2 part fresh lime juice

1/2 part simple syrup

1 teaspoon sugar

3-4 mint sprigs

3 lime wedges

2-3 splashes club soda

HOW TO MIX THE DRINK:

Place 1/2 part lime juice, 1/2 part simple syrup, 3 lime wedges, and 3 sprigs of mint into the bottom a tall glass, and muddle together. Splash in a dash of club soda and stir the mixture well until the sugar dissolves completely. Add 2-1/2 parts Malibu® Mango and ice. Stir vigorously to combine the ingredients, then top the glass off by filling it the rest of the way with soda water. Club soda helps keep the drink from tasting too sweet. Garnish with a wedge of lime and serve immediately.
