43 issues ago, a group of vinyl fiends got together to form Waxpoetics magazine. These fans of exhaustive funk history and rare musicology have now dedicated a whole issue of the magazine to reggae!
This issue tells the beginnings of melodica maestro Augustus Pablo, and how the soothing voice of Gregory Isaacs went straight to the hearts of reggae listeners. In typical Waxpoetics fashion, expect excursions to less travelled territory as well, such as a feature on Panamanian Dancehall and photos from the UK Dub scene.
More details on the reggae issue avaialble from Waxpoetics.
