DIY TIN CAN LANTERNS

Here’s a bright idea – light up your backyard hangouts with easy DIY lanterns!

Materials:

  • Empty tin cans (labels removed)
  • Stencil (download and print here)
  • Hammer
  • Nails
  • Tape
  • Paint & paint brush
  • Tea light

Step 1

Fill empty cans with water and freeze them overnight.

 

Step 2

Tape your favourite stencil around each of the frozen tin cans.

Step 3

Hammer time! Trace the stencils onto the cans by lightly tapping the nail around your desired shape a few times.

Step 4

Remove the stencils and run the cans under hot water to melt the ice, thencustomize your cans with vibrant paint colours. Once paint has dried, poke through holes with a nail to remove any excess paint.

Step 5

And voilà – you’re ready to light up summer nights with these unique luminaries!
